Join us for a live dance performance and spatial activation within Robert Smithson’s Site/Non-site framework, featuring Lighthouse by choreographers and dancers Courtney Mazeika and Peter Farrow. Lighthouse is a collaborative dance work blending structured movement with scored improvisation. Created while the artists lived in different countries during its initial development, the piece uses live-streamed video projection, real-time travel, and guided audience movement to explore distance, balance, and shifting vantage points: What does a great distance do to one’s perspective? How do we find levity in times of turmoil? Exactly how much support is necessary for a structure to stay standing? Echoing Smithson’s dialogue between physical space and displaced locations, one performer begins off-site and journeys toward the museum during the show, while the audience is invited to change physical positions within the gallery to alter their own perspective. The performance features an original score by composer Jonathan Starr. RSVP required. Limted capacity.
