Join us for a dark and stormy celebration of all things Gothic and Autumnal!!! Bring your tribe and be prepared to share your creative side in this poetry and art show. This is a night for artists of all ages and various arts to display and share their work in poetry, dramatic arts, and visual arts. We are accepting original works of art from artists 5 years old and above. The theme for the submissions is Gothic or Autumnal. The submissions must be appropriate to be viewed and heard by ALL ages. Be sure to submit your work through the google submission form. Submissions will be presented in age groups: 5-8, 9-12, 13-18, and 19. Poetry must be no longer than 40 lines. Short stories will be no longer than 450 words. Dramatic Arts would be a presentation of a scene from a play, a dramatic reading of a poem or a short story that is no longer than 3minutes. Be sure to include in your presentation the title and the author of the work as part of those 3 minutes. Dressing up to fit the vibe of your dramatic reading is highly encouraged. Please still fill out the submission form so we know what to put in the program and how we can include you in the Poe & Tea album. Visual Arts: These are anything from photographs, paintings, sketches, needle arts, etc, that can be displayed on a table or a wall. You will submit pictures of your work with the submission form and then bring it into the library the week of the event. We will not be able to accept your work after 8pm on October 7. Be prepared to take your work home with you after the event at 8pm. Submissions will open August 22 and close at 8pm on October 2. We are going to put together a program and an album for the evening, and to include your work we will not be able to accept submissions after the deadline. The evening of we will have a hot drinks station as well as sweets to eat, crafts for those who need to keep their hands busy, and a guest author, Curt Tuckfield who will begin the poetry, short story, and dramatic art performances.
